    Job responsibilities

    Required qualifications

    • At least 2 years of shop experience;
    • Experience towards or complete Certifications;
    • Strong understanding of Truck engines, their quirks and workarounds;
    • Knowledge of industry manufacturers is a big advantage;
    Heavy Duty Upfitter Technician
    • Term: Full-time

    Job responsibilities

    • Works on up-fitting and customizing medium and heavy-duty vehicles to customer specifications.
    • Works on compressors, cranes, welders, and responsible for coordinating with the development of innovative products such as; fabrication, production of aluminum flatbeds, service bodies and installation of liftgates.
    • Works under limited supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
    • Performs repairs, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic for vehicles and equipment.
    • Must have the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
    • Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisitions new parts.
    • Performs all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
    • Conducts safety checks on vehicles
    • Completes required paperwork utilizing document management system programs associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
    • Good communication skills relative to supervisor & other related departments.
    • Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
    • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds, plus the physical ability to work in awkward positions such as kneeling, lying down, and overhead.
    • Must have the ability to climb and work from a ladder.
    • Ability to operate various shop tools (saws, drills, fork lifts, etc.)
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license & transportation.

    Required qualification

    • Requires: Two (2) years of relevant work experience.
    • Requires strong understanding of chassis and body electrical systems.
    • Requires strong understanding of hydraulic systems (PTOs, pumps, etc.).
    • Requires: a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent plus vocational training or job-related course work.
    • Must have own tools of the trade.
    • Welding and fabricating experience is a plus.
