Job responsibilities
- Engine experience;

- Truck License;
- At least 2 years of shop experience;
- Experience towards or complete Certifications;
- Strong understanding of Truck engines, their quirks and workarounds;
- Knowledge of industry manufacturers is a big advantage;
Heavy Duty Upfitter Technician
Job responsibilities
- Works on up-fitting and customizing medium and heavy-duty vehicles to customer specifications.
- Works on compressors, cranes, welders, and responsible for coordinating with the development of innovative products such as; fabrication, production of aluminum flatbeds, service bodies and installation of liftgates.
- Works under limited supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Performs repairs, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic for vehicles and equipment.
- Must have the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisitions new parts.
- Performs all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
- Conducts safety checks on vehicles
- Completes required paperwork utilizing document management system programs associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Good communication skills relative to supervisor & other related departments.
- Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, plus the physical ability to work in awkward positions such as kneeling, lying down, and overhead.
- Must have the ability to climb and work from a ladder.
- Ability to operate various shop tools (saws, drills, fork lifts, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have a valid driver’s license & transportation.
Required qualification
- Requires: Two (2) years of relevant work experience.
- Requires strong understanding of chassis and body electrical systems.
- Requires strong understanding of hydraulic systems (PTOs, pumps, etc.).
- Requires: a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent plus vocational training or job-related course work.
- Must have own tools of the trade.
- Welding and fabricating experience is a plus.
